Police foil drug trafficking operation in Bauchi, arrest 5

The Bauchi State Police Command’s Command Monitoring Unit, led by CSP Abdulrazak Pada, on April 27, conducted an operation in Unguwar Tudun Wadan Dan’iya (Bayan Gari) area of Bauchi.

According to a release by the Command Principal Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the operation resulted in the arrest of five individuals: Adamu Muhammed, 35, Mrs. Okwudili Chikezic, 50, Sunday Anaco, 25, Miss Maryam Ahmed, 20 and Tijjani Adamu, 20.

The PPRO said the suspects were found with various quantities of prohibited substances, including Tramadol tablets, ICE syrups, Penta injections, Diazepam tablets, and ICE bunkers.

During questioning, the suspects admitted their involvement in drug trafficking and expressed willingness to cooperate with law enforcement.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, commended the officers for their efforts and directed a thorough investigation.

Wakil said the suspects will be profiled and charged to court once the investigation is completed.

The police command encourages community members to advise their wards against involvement in illicit activities and promote awareness about the health implications of using illegal substances.
