Edo: Father of 6-year-old girl murdered with pregnant mother surfaces

The father of a 6-year-old girl (Divine Uwuigbe ), allegedly murdered alongside her pregnant mother, (Loveth Aimienoho Isaac) in Benin City has surfaced.

The father, Mr. Uwuigbe Stanley, was spotted at the Edo State Police Headquarters, visibly distraught over the situation.

Uwuigbe had a relationship with the deceased, Loveth Aimienoho Isaac, resulting in the birth of their daughter, Divine.

Due to complications, Divine was born prematurely via cesarean section and spent three months and two weeks in an incubator.

Uwuigbe claimed that his former partner stopped him from seeing their daughter two years ago, citing her new marriage. He stated that he had been unable to locate them since 2023.

The father revealed that he only learnt about the murder of his daughter through a friend who informed him after watching an online news report. He expressed shock that neither the woman’s family nor anyone else notified him about the incident.

He is worried that he has not been allowed to see his daughter’s body. He seeks justice for the tragic loss of his child and former partner.

Recall that a pregnant woman, Loveth Aimienoho Isaac, and her 6-year- old daughter were brutally murdered by her estranged spouse recently. The suspect, identified as Nnamdi, is still at large.

The Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Moses Yamu, has appealed to the public for information leading to Nnamdi’s arrest.

Further investigation revealed that a wedding invitation card had been printed for Nnamdi and the deceased woman, with their wedding scheduled for March 29 and April 6, 2025, before the murder.
