Police foil car snatching attempt, arrest airport taxi passenger in Lagos
The Lagos State Police Command has announced the arrest of a 35-year-old airport taxi passenger who attempted to snatch a car from its driver.
According to the command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, who revealed this yesterday said the taxi driver reported the incident to the Alausa Police Division on June 11 at 1:40 a.m.
The driver alleged that the suspect, who pretended to be a passenger, stopped him at the Chevron area of Ajah at 1:20 a.m. and requested to be taken to the Shrine in Agidigbi, Alausa area of Ikeja.
During the journey, the suspect attempted to snatch the car on Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja, but the driver raised the alarm, leading to the suspect’s arrest.
The police have taken the suspect into custody and are investigating the incident.
The police noted that the arrest highlights its commitment to ensuring the safety of citizens and preventing criminal activities in Lagos State.
