LASEPA applauds Balmoral, IFMA for sustainable facility management initiative

The General Manager/CEO of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, has commended the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Nigeria Chapter and Balmoral Group for their collaboration on sustainable facility management

At a stakeholders meeting, themed IFMA-Balmoral Group Strategic Collaboration on Support Services to the Event Industry Through Capacity Building in Lagos,Dr. Ajayi, represented by Mrs Abosede Natufe, HOD Noise Pol­lution, LASEPA, in his goodwill message described their initiative as a “noble example of self compliance and partnership with the public sector on environmental protection and safety of lives and properties.”

Highlighting the timeliness of this effort, and its coinciding with the 10th Lagos Climate Change Conference, Dr. Ajayi emphasised the impact of human activities on the environment and the high cost of remediation, citing a rise in environmental complaints received by LASEPA in the first quarter of 2024, underlining the urgency for responsible practices.

In a bid to create an effective, safe and sustainable facility man­agement template, the Balmoral Group has partnered International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Nigerian Chapter to advance standards and practices of facility management for sustainable and impactful results.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Balmoral Group, Dr Ezeikel Adamu, stated the importance of partnership to help leverage best practices, latest knowledge and technology to navigate the constant evolution in the hospitality industry.

According to him, the groundbreaking collaboration between Balmoral Event Center and the International Facility Management Associa­tion (IFMA), (Nigerian chapter) is a strategic partnership that marks a significant milestone in their shared mission to ad­vance the standards and prac­tices of facility management on a global scale.
