Police arrest man for forging Lagos Magistrates’ Stamps, impersonation

Detectives attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Lagos State Police Command, have arrested one Charles Chukwudi for alleged forgery of Magistrates Stamps and for impersonation.

The 48-year-old suspect, it was learnt was arrested following discreet investigations into his issuance of fake court documents to unsuspecting members of the public.

The state Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement yesterday said the suspect was arrested with some forged official stamps of Chief Magistrate Admin, C/M Adeola Olatunbosun, Chief Magistrate Court 1, Yaba and Magistrate A.B Ajiferuke of Magistrate Court, Epe. Also found in his possession was a fake police identity card and a passport photograph in police uniform which investigation revealed he had photoshopped.

Hundeyin said investigation commenced into his fraudulent activities after its discovery by some court officials who in turn alerted the police.

He said he was arrested within the premises of Tinubu Court, Lagos-island on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. He had since been arraigned.
