Kano Mosque Attack: Death toll rises to 18,


…as Ganduje moves to rebuild burnt mosque

The death toll in the early morning Kano Mosque attack, penultimate, Wednesday, has risen to 18, living remaining seven bedridden, even as the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has promised to rebuild the Mosque.

Already, Ganduje, has donated N5.3 Million with 50 bags of rice and other food items  to victims of the attack, during a sympathy visit to them at the Murtala Mohammed Hospital, yesterday.

Our Correspondent reports that 18 out of 25 victims of the attack have lost their lives, while seven  are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

The Ganduje delegation led by the chairman of APC in Kano State, Prince Abdullahi Abbas also gave N50, 000 to each of the seven victims at the hospital, while the sum of N5 million was donated to members of their family in Gezawa town.

He prayed for the repose of the souls of those who died as a result of the attack and wished those at the hospital quick recovery.

Shafiu Abuvakar (38), had set the Mosque in Gezawa Local Government Area ablaze during a dawn prayer, and 25 people sustained various degrees of fire burns.
